Abruzzo is one of the most famous regions for the production of rosé wine. It is a school.
Have you ever heard about “Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo?” And Montepulciano?
From the Montepulciano grape we obtain the typical wine of Abruzzo, “Rosso Montepulciano d’Abruzzo” or, of course, “Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo”.
Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo, is obtained from short maceration of the skins to extract a rosé of “cerasuolo” colour. Cerasuolo colour is a colour similar to the colour of the cherries. Its name derives from the Abruzzo dialect “cerasuolo” which means cherries.
The appelation Cerasuolo d’Abruzzo is a DOC (Denomination of Controlled Origin). It means, like the French AOC law, you can only claim this title for wine made in a specific area and those who follow strict rules written in the law.

One experiment we can try is to taste the Red Wine from Abruzzo made from Montepulciano grapes and one Rosé made from the same grapes. Just to train your pallet, follow the method of the tasting written in “Simply Rosé”, to improve your sense.
